Well done the dingers ! They captured the title for the first time in 45 years and only the second time ever by beating Yester at the extra end.
After a nice steal of one at the first end, Duns coughed up a terrible 5 at the second end. Opinion amongst the "experts " behind the glass was that the game was over. However Duns struck right back and took a 4 at the next to tie up the scores at 5-5. A blank end followed and from then on it was nip and tuck to the finish at 7-7.
The deadlock was broken at the extra end as Duns guarded John Hodge's lead stone, with Yester peeling off guards and Duns replacing them. The Yester skip's final effort was a courageous run back of a long guard but he was unsuccessful and Colin Martin did not have to play his last stone.
Well done to Colin M, George,Paul and John H. They will now go on to represent the Borders at Greenacres Ice Rink next November.
After playing with John, Paul and George is Colin Martin now our very own Ringo? He is at very least a Star!
